Neue Westfälische – „Hsin-Huei Huang excels with contemporary piano music.“
Tageszeitung Gütersloh – „More“
Kleine Zeitung Graz – „…Jubilation at the piano concert by Hsin-Huei Huang, piano playing as a passion.“
Beat Furrer, Composer – „With the Vienna Philharmonic, the orchestra of the Zurich Opera, and Klangforum Wien, Hsin-Huei Huang has consistently demonstrated her magnificent abilities.“
Friedrich Cerha, Composer – „Hsin-Huei Huang played my „Klavierstück 58“ in a concert at the Schömer Haus on April 16, 2011. In doing so, she responded very well to the intentions of the difficult composition and interpreted the work with great sensitivity, musicality, and a refined touch.“
Till Alexander Körber, Composer / Pianist – „Ms. Huang is an excellent pianist, whose playing is characterized by a strong emotional intensity and a clear intellectual penetration. Every encounter with her is an artistic enrichment.“
OÖ Nachrichten – „Hsin-Huei Huang interpreted with admirable impulsiveness, technically and rhythmically precise.“
Christian Gampert, Deutschlandfunk Kultur – „The mezzo-soprano Tora Augestad sings bewitching elegies, the pianist Hsin-Huei Huang plays quirky new-sounding clusters. In this final part of the performance, the evening becomes a grand memorial service… this is certainly a highlight of this year’s Wiener Festwochen…“
Eduard Geroldinger, Jeunesse – „What I appreciate about Hsin-Huei Huang is that she not only creates very intelligent programs but also tackles more recent pieces with great responsibility. Thus, she effortlessly manages to captivate the audience with pieces from the 20th and 21st centuries.“
Musikinformationscenter Wien – „…In the ensemble that tackled this new chamber music, pianist Hsin-Huei Huang was also a constant presence (impressively brilliant as a soloist as well).“
Kleine Zeitung Graz (Graz Capital of Culture, Vienna Philharmonic Concert) – „With shimmers and whispers, eruption and pause, a playful ‚dialogue‘ between solo violin (Ernst Kovacic), piano (Hsin-Huei Huang), and bass flute, this world premiere (Beat Furrer’s ‚andere Stimmen‘)—introduced with helpful explanations by conductor Ingo Metzmacher—held the audience captive for 20 minutes.“
Der Standard – „Here, the pianist Hsin-Huei Huang joined in, who brought ‚Peter Parker‘ to vibrant life…“
Die Tageszeitung Junge Welt – „As in his (Morton Feldman’s) piano piece ‚For Bunita Marcus,‘ which Hsin-Huei Huang performed on Monday morning at eight o’clock in the well-attended Kunststation Sankt Peter (must it really be eight in the morning? Yes, absolutely! Against the 8 p.m. concert-start dictatorship!) and which is guaranteed to be free of hierarchies – be they of a melodic, rhythmic, or harmonic nature, or of volume. Everything remains in the range between piano and pianissimo, the ’sustain‘ pedal remains almost permanently pressed. The tones are incomparably subtle and, in the nearly 80 minutes of this performance, develop a life of their own. At some point, the hope for development or modulation ends; only the tones remain in the space – for example, right at the beginning, two completely different C#5s, one struck by the right hand, then, as the first fades, by the left hand. So, the same note at the same pitch, yet now it is a different tone, a different sound. It is the interplay of ‚ears, mind and fingers‘ that blends the differences.“
Echo Online – „In Bernhard Gander’s stormy ‚Peter Parker‘ (inspired by the film ‚Spiderman‘), Huang proved her virtuosity.“
Radio Ö1 – „..Bernhard Lang’s ‚cellular automata‘ for solo piano, on the other hand, brings a reunion with Hsin-Huei Huang, the very pianist who had already thrilled the audience during the evening with Peter Ablinger in the spring.“
Musikinformationscenter Wien – „Hsin-Huei Huang fascinated the following day at the Musikverein with DW 12 (‚cellular automata‘) – a piece not only for, but also about the piano as a mechanical hammer-keyboard sonata machine.“
Klassik.com – „…„Spur‘ for piano and string quartet (Beat Furrer) in a highly virtuosic interpretation by Hsin-Huei Huang and the stadler quartett.“
Musikinformationscenter Wien – „The latter work (Beat Furrer’s „Spur‘ for piano quintet) was performed very impressively in the concert the day before with the outstanding stadler quartett and Hsin-Huei Huang.“
Musikinformationscenter Wien – „….After the intermission, things became very exciting. First, from the great Iannis Xenakis, the string trio Ikhoor (1978), architecture turned into music, then the wonderful pianist Hsin-Huei Huang joined on the Steinway. What followed was „Schöne Worte‘ (Beautiful Words, 2007) by Bernhard Gander, in which he frets about a new building that obstructs his view of the railway tracks. The fantastic piece was celebrated with great, well-deserved applause.“
(On the GOD-Records recording of Bernhard Lang: DW12 „cellular automata“ for piano) – „…In this 2008 recording (Radiokulturhaus Wien), Hsin-Huei Huang brings in high measure the verve, sensitivity to detail, rhythmic precision, and dynamic range necessary for a satisfying interpretation of this piece, and delights with an extremely transparent, at times even crystalline, dynamically excellently nuanced, precise, and yet beautifully tempered interpretation. Likewise, she is able to render Pintscher’s „On a clear day‘ (recorded at musikprotokoll 2008), which circles around the note E-flat, with a passionate interpretation that does not obscure the fragilities inherent in the piece, as well as to bring Šavli’s sparsely reserved, very thoughtful „Je dois m’abbattre‘ (recorded at RTV, Ljubljana) to a convincing sound. A very beautiful record!“
Kronen Zeitung – „Fantastic, indeed a dream, how the quartet around Frank Stadler performs this piece, and likewise the piano quintet ’spur‘ by Beat Furrer with pianist Hsin-Huei Huang. Stellar moments.“
OÖ Nachrichten – „Peter Ablinger underlays the voices of prominent figures with an abstract piano part of short phrases… In both cases, praise is due to the live interpreters, especially the pianist Hsin-Huei Huang.“
